Appointments are usually made for the Birmingham Foot Clinic through the customer services department at the Edgbaston Hospital. The clinic can be called at a local rate from anywhere in the UK on: 0845 838 1930.

Appointments and enquires can also be made on line from our 'appointments / enquiry form.' It is endeavored that all such electronic enquires will be responded to within 2 working days and telephone enquiries within the day. Telephone lines are open from Monday to Friday, 09.00 - 17.00. However appointments for consultation are available from 08.00 - 20.00, for patient convenience.

The clinic sees both private and NHS patients, with different facilities and arrangements available.  Private patients may make use of all major private medical health insurance schemes to fund treatment, or can self fund if not insured. For patients who self pay fixed cost treatment and interest free loans for treatment can be arranged on an individual basis.

Some NHS patients are able to attend the Birmingham Foot Clinic. This is dependant upon regional agreements and appointment availability.  Not all GPs are able to offer treatment from the Birmingham Foot Clinic and appointments may not be available based upon demand, however if you consult your Doctor regarding a Foot Health problem you can ask for advice.

It is not necessary to be referred into the clinic by a health care professional if you are a private patient, you can simply make your own referral. However it is always advisable to first consult your GP. Your General Practitioner maybe able to help you with your foot problem, and if not they can then refer you into the clinic knowing that you will be attending and why. For most Private Medical Health Insurance Schemes and for all NHS patients, being referred by your GP or Health Care Professional is essential.

When you attend it is worth taking time to think about when you were first concerned by your foot problem, has it got better or worse, have you had any treatment to date and how the problem effects your life. It is also worth making a list of any medication you are taking or applying, both prescribed and none prescribed.

Hot and cold drinks, papers and magazines are all available in the patient waiting area, every patient has a set appointment time and excluding emergencies and complex cases, nothing more than a short wait should be anticipated.
